We understand that certain pets have a harder time being around animals of a different species. Cats are much more sensitive to noise and stress than most dogs. To alleviate some of the stresses associated with bringing cats to the veterinarian, we have made our hospital a feline friendly practice.
What is different:
- We offer feline only hours on Wednesdays from 1:00 – 3:00. There will be only cats in the waiting room during this time. (We are still open for emergencies for all animals, but they will not be present in the waiting room).
- We use Feliway (a synthetic copy of the feline facial pheromone used by cats to mark their territory as safe and secure) through special areas of the hospital.
- We provide a Feliway-sprayed quilt or towel to you at the time of your visit. By placing this over their carrier while they are in the waiting room, your cat will immediately be able to sense the friendly pheromone and relax. They are also more relaxed with the towel while on the exam table.
